Privacy Notice

Bay Bites is a sole-trader business developing a local food-ordering platform in Lancaster and Morecambe. This notice covers the pre-launch email list and restaurant-interest forms only; it will be updated before the full ordering service launches.

Information we collect

For customers: your email address, your choice to receive a launch announcement, any separate marketing permission, and the time of your registration. For prospective restaurant partners: your business name, contact email and permission to respond to your enquiry. We process limited pseudonymous technical information for spam and abuse prevention.

How we use your details

We rely on consent to send the launch notification and, only if separately chosen, occasional local offers and marketing. Restaurant contact details are used to respond to the enquiry you asked us to consider. We use a legitimate interest in maintaining the security of the forms and protecting against abuse.

Who processes your data?

Sign-ups are processed by our website hosting provider, Vercel, and stored using Supabase, with the database hosted in Ireland (EU). Our domain and email-forwarding services are used for communication, and externally hosted fonts and imagery can generate routine connection data. Providers may process technical information internationally using applicable safeguards.

We do not sell your details or pass customer email addresses to restaurants for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep pre-launch contacts for the purpose of responding to your request and preparing the launch, review the need to keep them periodically, and remove them when no longer needed or where your applicable request for deletion can be honoured. Marketing permissions are withdrawn when requested. Operational retention and deletion procedures are being finalised.

Your rights

You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting privacy@baybites.co.uk. You may also request access to, correction or deletion of your information, as well as restriction or objection where applicable. We will respond according to UK data protection law. Withdrawal does not make earlier processing unlawful.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
